Reports by the agency’s inspector general and the National Park Service said that $40 billion in national parks, historic sites, and monuments are endangered as water levels rise along with increased temperatures.
Among the sites named are the Statue of Liberty and Gateway National Recreation Area, which includes the Fort Hancock and Sandy Hook Proving Ground National Historic Landmark in New Jersey.
